Brahim's Kuah Kari Ikan (Fish Curry)

I have tried several Brahim's premix like rendang, honey chicken, etc but nothing to shout about. But I would recommend Brahim's fish curry as shown below. It is delicious and tasted like Indian curry and quite spicy. It's a super fast and easy to whip up dinner because all you need is water and freezer ready ingredients. My hubby "sapu" (finished) the whole bowl down to the gravy.

2 fish fillets, cut ( I used Tilapia, you can use cod or mahi-mahi)
6 small toufu pok, cut into half
12 frozen whole okras
1 cup frozen cut green beans
1 package Brahim's kuah kari ikan
3/4 cup water

1. In a pot, add water and the Brahim's sauce, turn up the heat, stir to mix well and let it boil.

2. When boiled, add the frozen veggies and taufu pok. Turn the heat to low, covered and let it simmer for 10 minutes.

3. Open the cover and add in the cut fish fillets, scoop some curry on top of the fish, covered and let it simmer for another 10-15 minutes. Serve hot with rice!

This is how the package looks like!

My hubby loves Brahim curries...especially Kari Daging. Everytime we go back to KL we buy a whole box!!! You know how heavy those things are!!! LOL!!!

I didn't care much for it either!!! Prefer Uncle Sun's Nyonya Stuff.

Anyway, I did get a couple of the Fish Curries ... will try it out next week!!

EMWK, yes it's good for this cold weather, also it's pretty spicy!

Tricia, I like Uncle Sun's premix too, thus far I only tried the herbal soup mix.

Rasa M'sia, thanks! I don't know how to cook curry fish of any kind, so this paste comes in handy. :P

also picked up more baking things (including ground peanuts) from phoon huat!

what's the size of your heart shape kuih bangkit? the smallest ones at phoon huat looks quite big n i'm wondering if i should make a trip to siah huat :)

Hi Pink,

You shouldn't have any problem baking cake now after the baking class. ;)

My heart shape cookie cutter is of the smallest size, like normal kuih bangkit size.

See that you harvest some good stuff from Phoon Huat huh? I just love to shop the baking supplies store, so fun and so many things to browse or buy. :)

Hi all,

I bought this sauce not realizing that is in fact, HOT! My hubby and I can't stand hot food, but the photo on the packet just looks so yummy. How can I make this sauce milder? Would adding coconut cream work?

Little Corner of Mine said...

Hi jiffypop,
You can add more water and add a little sugar. Sugar is said to cut down on spiciness. After that, just eat the fish and veggie without adding the curry sauce.
