Surprise!

I received a surprise package today. YAY, a package for me! Flip over and it was from France. So I know it's my gift from Cooking Ninja from answering the correct answer. I tried to find the direct link on that post but I just couldn't recall which post already so I gave up. What is it huh? Couldn't understand a word from the box!

Let's open and see! Hmmm...what is it huh? Still no clue!

What is it huh? Hahaha... Look at the ingredients list at the back, can't understand a word also, but managed to see a word Melon in it. So, I'm guessing it's a Melon Candy? But what kind of melon I don't know. It's my first of seeing and eating this kind of candy.

Look who else is enjoying this candy! Got a thumb up from her as well and she totally loved it! Okay, assuming this is how we eat it and what I assumed it is to be, if not "teruk lah"! LOL!

Thanks Cooking Ninja for my surprise gift from France! Please do let me know what it is okay? :)

Ground Pork & Mushroom Dried Noodle

I organized an annual potluck picnic in the park this past Saturday. It's an event where we meet and eat in the park where the kids can enjoy some outdoor play time. The weather turned out to be so cooperating and nice, and we had a fun time eating a variety of food. Too bad, I don't have a picture of the spread because I didn't bring my camera out. But I did take a picture of what I brought to the picnic before we left the house.

Evy Update

She is getting big huh?

Now she is at this age that asks a lot of questions and loves to ask why. Sometimes she purposely asked me/daddy a question when she already knew the answer, just wanted to hear us say it. She is also like a "little old lady" who loves to repeat herself over and over again. To me, she is worst than the old lady since she would ask the same question 4 to 5 times in a row even though we have already answered her. I asked her, "Why are you so long winded?" or have to tell her, "Enough already!".

Oh, finally she is potty trained at 3 years & 2 months old. I didn't seriously start until she is after 3 because I'm a lazy mama. But just as the expert said, "When they are ready, they are." With her, it was fairly easy, a few accidents in the beginning and then smooth sailing after. Luckily the training pants that I bought for her can pass down to her sister. :)

Beginning of Crawling

Why is my baby still not sleeping through the night? She is still waking up 2-3 times at night to feed and sometimes won't want to sleep right away and prefer some playtime. I got fed up when I'm tired and sleepy and my baby wants to play. Luckily her father is a night owl, so often time I can just carry her downstair and leave her to her daddy. Evy slept through the night at 3 months, but got up and fed once a night from 6-9 months and slept through the night again at 9 months. With this Edda, I just don't see the time coming soon. I would be so happy if she just wake up once a night but no, she has to wake up every so often, sometimes up to 4 times!! :( Why huh?

Edda just finished her lunch of green peas, some Gerber puffs and a teething biscuit. Sometimes if mommy is lazy, I will eat what mommy eats, like rice with tiny pieces of chicken/meat and veggie.

Edda begins to show sign of crawling at 7+ months. And finally she is flipping over.

Gives mommy a smile!

Sisters

Just sharing some pictures of them posing for the camera. How sweet to see them all lovey together. :o)

Update on Edda:
Edda is growing teeth! I can feel and see a tooth at her left middle bottom gum and another one on her right. Two at 6+ months!! Evy didn't grow her first tooth until 9+ months. So, this is early for me.

She started drinking from a sippy cup since 4 months. Never on pacifier and bottle (only on bottle for the week when doc. asked not to breastfeed her because of her jaundice). Good for me because I don't have to hide the pacifier or worry about keeping the bottle from her later on. Oh, I gave her water or sometimes diluted apple juice during or after meals.

I also started her on Gerber fruit puffs. I split it into half and let her self-feed herself on her high chair while I cook. Also to let her practise her pincher grab, thus far not too bad, half went into her mouth and half on the chair. Hahaha...

Evy Drawing

Just showing a picture she drew recently. I asked her, "How come got 5 persons in that picture?" She said, "One is daddy, mommy, Evy, Edda and my friend Courtney." (who lives next door). LOL!

Edda is Sitting

Edda is sitting at 6 months. She turned 6 months today but she started sitting at about 5 and half months. Currently basically got a taste of what we were eating during meals (she loves everything we eat!). Her main meal is oatmeal cereal or/and squash/green beans/ sweet potatoes. Just because her mommy is too lazy to cook porridge for her. LOL! Of course sometimes I will include some fruit like strawberry, banana or pear. I will only cook her fish porridge if I feel like it for now. :P

As usual, Evy wants a piece of the action too! :o)

Evy's 3rd Birthday Celebration

This year for Evy birthday I had a little party for her over the weekend, only invited 4 little girls about her age and their parents. It took me two days to prepare the food but I had fun. I hope they enjoyed the food! :)

I made her this birthday cake, but my chocolate fudge didn't set in the middle! :( First time making fudge, very amatuer!

Children table with her Dora theme.

Nasi Lemak and Beef Rendang

Noodle, Soy Sauce Chicken Wings & Spice Chicken Wings

Appertizer & Dessert

The Vegetarian Noodle

Claypot Beef Rendang, I added the Kaffir Lime Leaves

Sambal Ikan Bilis for the Nasi Lemak

Spice Chicken Wings

When my mom see the spread, she will say, " Aiya, you should spend your time holding Edda instead of making all these food!" LOL!!

My Girls

My lovely girls!

Edda smiling!

She is pushing up finally!

This is for my record, so I will know whether Edda is behind or not.

2 months before turning three, Evy knows:
~ All the phonics (through LeapFrog Phonics dvd).
~ Speak Mandarin in sentences.
~ Speak some English in sentences (self-learn through T.V. and her notebook).
~ Converse with grandpa and grandma on the phone (mummy's friends too).
~ Know most of the animals name in Mandarin & English.
~ Know all the common shapes and colors in Mandarin & English.
~ Learn to recognize and pronounce Chinese characters correctly.
~ A-Z, and sing the whole song correctly.
~ Sing a bunch of English and Mandarin songs.
~ Say 1-20 in Mandarin & 1-10 in English.
~ She can write 0, 1, 2, 10, H, E & F.
~ She can spell Evy, baby and Tad.
~ She can draw circle, rectangle and our family picture.
~ Tell me what to buy her on her 3rd birthday and what kind of birthday cake she wants. *Geez...*

As for Edda, a bit slow on her development. Still not turning over yet. But at least finally she is pushing up on her own. Not enough tummy exercise I guess, but she always cries when I put her on her tummy, so... Well, as long as she can sit up on her own at 6 months, I'm not going to worry about her turning over or not.

More of Edda

I love this picture of them. Their daddy managed to catch them smiling together, priceless!

This is her at exactly 3 months!

Finally, I managed to catch her smiling or laughing?

She loves taking bath, just like her big sister!

Evy & Edda

It's so hard to take picture of my two precious daughters together. Evy wants to join in whenever I try to snap some pictures of Edda (which I have not been doing it often enough), so I would have to accomodate her in the pictures as well.

Oh mine, look at Edda's spiky hair! Evy's hair was not like that before, guess it will fall down when it gets longer, if she hasn't turned "botak" (bold) already. She started losing her hair at 2 1/2 months and still losing. If she is like Evy, she will become almost bold around 6-7 months and then her hair will start to grow back.

Edda is 3 months old today! She is such a happy baby. She will smile to everyone who talks to her. Guess a chocolate a day while pregnant and remain stress free during the whole pregnancy really produces a happy baby. ^o^

More Pictures!

I hope you guys enjoy looking at baby pictures because I have not been cooking and no food picture to post. :P

This is Edda at 2 plus weeks old. She still has jaundice and it has been two weeks and she is still yellow looking. Her blood test today showed slight decrease in the bilirubin level, so that's good news. She will need another blood drawn this Wednesday to see if it's down for good. My poor baby feets were covered with bandages since birth. Poor thing!
