Three Seed Bread

I always make our bread from scratch via the bread maker at home.  I am also happy to try out any healthy bread recipe for my family.  Recently, I am into flaxseed and chia seed, so I bought a packet of Bob's Red Mill flaxseed and at the back packet of the flaxseed, it included two recipes and one of it is this Three Seed Bread.  I decided to try this recipe because I have all the ingredients and it sounded great.  This bread indeed turned out delicious and soft and we loved it.  Hence, I decided to share it here with all of you.

For bread machine, recipe courtesy of Bob's Red Mill.

Ingredients:

1 1/4 cups water
2 Tbsp. honey
2 Tbsp. oil  (I used peanut oil)
2 cups unbleached white flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt  (I used the combination of sea + rock salts and cut it down to 1 tsp.)
1/3 cup Bob's Red Mill flaxseed (I grounded the flaxseed)
2 Tbsp. sunflower seed kernels (I used raw sunflower seeds)
1 Tbsp. poppy seeds  (sometimes I used chia seeds or black sesame seeds)
2 tsp. active dry yeast (I used instant yeast)

Beautifully baked!

Method:

Add ingredients to bread machine in the order recommended by the breach machines manufacturer and select basic bread cycle (I used 1.5lb, light crust color).  Let cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.

~Makes one loaf.

I've been seeing a lot of recipes with chia seed though not quite sure how to use it! Your home made bread looks so much healthier than store-bought!

Chia seed is very popular these days. You can add it in your smoothie, oatmeal, salad, pancake, bread, muffin, cake, waffle, pudding to list a few.

Oh I have such a weakness for seeded bread. I've never tried poppy in a savoury loaf, but I don't know why not!

Thanks for sharing this recipe. It is so easy and the bread came out soft and delicious. I tried is last weekend, Min Jie likes it. I made some minor tweaks: pink salt to replace salt, olive oil to peanut oil and pecan to sunflower seeds. Will ake this again! Sin Leng
