Chicken Rice Dinner

The spread of our Chicken Rice Dinner using Prima Taste premix. I heard a lot of great thing about Prima Taste Hainanese Chicken Rice from bloggers and readers alike but never got a chance to try it. My chance finally came when I received a packet as a gift from a relative from Singapore. My review: I really liked it, super easy to make and the taste was pretty authentic, really cut down a lot of labor work because I didn't have to make the chili and ginger sauces.

The white chicken. Tender, soft and moist with the fabulous sauce. I used two chicken thighs.

Baked chicken for my hubby who won't touch white chicken.

Chicken rice cooked with sauce provided.

The leftover chicken broth from cooking the chicken and rice. Just add some green, soft tofu and seasonings to create a soup.

All I needed to buy for this dinner were 4 chicken thighs, 1 English cucumber, some scallions, 1/2 block of soft tofu, some nai pak (Asian green) and rice.

oh yes, the Prima Taste Hainanese Chicken Rice is gd. The others like laksa, curry chk are equally gd.

I always brought a few pks when I visited my girl in Jp then. Her Jpanese friends like these ready-mixed pkts too.

This my kind of meal. I've tried Prima Taste Curry laksa and CKT but have yet to try out their Chicken Rice mix. Hopefully our Asian store here will have the stock soon.

I never tried Prima's chicken Rice mix leh. They say another brand Kees is better. But Prima's Mee Rebus and Mee Siam, sometimes Laksa can be my time saver ;p

Wow...this chicken rice mix is so convenient with chilli and ginger sauce. I like chicken rice but hate making the chilli sauce.

Me too SP!

I like this brand too Peony. This brand can only get in Singapore, I couldn't find it in M'sia. I have tried laksa, mee rebus and mee siam too.

Me too mycookinghut, just that more troublesome because have to make another dish for hubby.

Gert, that will be good. I definitely need to stock up on this if I have relative coming from S'pore. I love the convenient of this.

Yes noobcook, a complete meal. :)

Sweet Jasmine, it came with a rectangular box and it has a premix to cook rice, a premix to cook soup, a premix sauce to pour on top of the Hainanese chicken, a packet of chili sauce, ginger sauce and dark soy sauce. It's available at Giant in S'pore. I have yet to find this brand in M'sia.

Tigerfish, the chicken rice is pretty good too, we don't have to make chili and ginger sauces.

Thanks Sonia.

Yes, very convenient Ling. I don't like the trouble to make chili and ginger sauce too. And we don't have those M'sia red chili here, have to use the red jalapeno which is quite pricey.

I have only tried Chng Kee's as it's very handy to have around in the fridge. Just a few teaspoons of it in the rice. I don't bother with pandan leaves etc. Have not compared with Prima so I don't know which is better.

Lily, I too have to make a different kind of chicken for hubby as he says white chicken is too bland!

Hi Tina, I'm not Lily. Strange few people mistaken me as Lily's blog before. :P
