Har Mee / Prawn Noodle/ Hokkien Mee

Looks good or not? Want to eat or not? What if I tell you, you can make this too! Want to learn the secret or you already know?

I made my har mee with thinly sliced pork slices, tofu pok, shrimps of course, fish balls, kangkong, hard boiled egg and spaghetti noodle (if you look closer enough, you might spot it). Then top with crispy shallots and can I say it was super delicious!! The secret is the Delimas Prawn Noodle Paste! You got to try it to believe it! If you like the curry laksa, this is even better, very authentic, just like having a bowl at the hawker store, might even taste better than some. I made a mistake by adding a little of my super spicy chili because the broth is spicy in itself, so I was sweating while eating it, but so shiok man. This paste got the thumb up from me and even my high expectation hubby!

Note: If you try making the prawn mee before, you know it's pretty time consuming. But with this, your can have a delicious bowl of prawn mee in less than 30 minutes. One package yields about 4 bowls.

This is Sooooooo tempting leh! You know, I like to use spaghetti noodles in Mee Rebus too - pasta just gives more al-dente texture, plus it's healthier compared to alkali-based yellow noodles! I want to eat - can cook for me or not? Not virtual one, ok? ;)

Tigerfish,
Oh I like your healthier bit, it's so true! Also, it's something that we have in our pantry all the times. Most important, it goes very well together with prawn stock. Sure, sure, you visit me, I cook for you lah! :)

Daphne,
Yeah, I tried made it from scratch before, not to say a lot of work, mine turned out tasting off too. :(

Hi Cate,
Sorry for making your mouth water at such a late hour! LOL! :P

Thanks Isha!

No problem. Good luck in finding the paste. :)

Hi, your dish looks really delicious. How spicy is the paste/soup? I can't eat spicy. My food has to be mild. Any guidance you can give would really help. Thanks.

Good ar? ok next time must order this too. My problem with making from scratch is that I always don't have enough prawn shell to make a good stock. Have to save for a long time b4 making! :P

aiyah you tempt me only. Cannot get this paste here lah. :( Your bowl of prawn mee looks really like those in the hawker center. so shiok!

Speedoflight,
I remembered I tried it without my chili and it was not spicy enough for me and I have to go get my chili to add into it. But my level and your level is different so don't know leh. To me, it's kinda mild without added chili.

Blur Mommy,
This is good! I have to order more the next time I place an order too!

Thanks Cooking Ninja! Sorry lah have to tempt you, but got to spread this goodie to others. :)
