Pork Floss n Egg Hot Dog

This was what I did with my leftover two hot dog buns before I came to Malaysia. Each package of hot dog buns came in eight but it only had six brats in a package, so what to do with the other two hot dog buns? I decided to make myself some Pork Floss n Egg Hot Dog for breakfast. This was also to answer Tigerfish's question as to what other ways I used the pork floss. Check out Tigerfish version with peanut butter.

I spread the hot dog buns generously with butter on both sides and grill it in my indoor grill. Pour the beaten egg in the grill as well (since I'm too lazy to wash any extra pan) and stir to cook the egg. Then, just put the egg in the hot dog buns, spread some pork floss on top and drizzle with some Malaysian chili sauce. Hmmm...if only I can have some "bak kwa" too!

  3. Nice leh, nice leh...I like. Is your indoor grill small and portable kind? I'm still trying to imagine how to cook the egg on a grill. For my indoor grill, I definitely have to cook the egg on the bun which is on the grill.
I got no pork floss liow! :(

  6. I used to buy Beef or Fish floss (we called "Abon") when I went back to my homecountry. It´s a good combination eating with bread. Sometimes I eat beef floss with rice or nasi kuning, too.

  7. Thanks Sweet Jasmine. Mmmm...I love buns in bak kua too! Believe it or not, I haven't eaten any bak kua here yet. My mom said the way they marinated the pork here is uncleaned and advice me not to buy!

    Beachlover,
Can I bring pork floss back to U.S.? I passed by a bak kua shop recently and it sells fish floss, I'm very interested to bring back a pack but also very scare it's illegal.

    Tigerfish,
My indoor grill in the round, nonstick, electric and portable kind. Easy to clean and use. Hmmm...how to cook an egg on a bun huh? No pork floss ah, go buy lah, can easily get it where you at right? ;)

    Gert,
I love pork floss in porridge too. Adding flavor to the porridge.

    Cooking Ninja,
My older girl loves my homemade bak kua. She has yet to try the store bought one. I should have bought some to let her try. Will see whether I can go down to the bak kua store at downtown first since my two girls now is not feeling well.

    Retno,
I really want to try the fish floss. Will see whether I can buy a pack to bring back to U.S. and perhaps some spicy chicken floss if they have any. Will see...
