Mee Rebus

I had my mee rebus with pan-fried firm tofu, shrimps, boiled egg, chinese green (choy sum), chopped scallions and lots of fried shallots.

Glad to say I finally tried the well talk about Prima Taste Mee Rebus! Excellent recommendation as I certainly enjoyed it. The gravy for this was fairly thick (can dilute slightly more) and I liked that the flavor tasted great.

Update on the Prima Taste products at Viet Hoa Supermarket in Denver: I went there few weekends ago and they no longer sell the wide range of Prima Taste products. I only found few packets of Prima Taste Bak Kut Teh (must be the leftover) and that was it. Hmmm...could it be possible that it was priced at the higher end and thus the demand was not great and the store decided to stop ordering it? Definitely a possibility!! Anyway, let see whether they restock again. I go there probably once in two or three months so I might be a bit updated.

  1. Hi,

The Viet Hoa here in Houston is also not stocking Prima Taste sauces anymore. I came across this website where you can order prima taste online from California (from the distributor). I have not tried it yet, but plan to do so. Hope this helps!

  5. Wooo...loveeee Prima Mee Rebus! Thick and flavorful! I like mine with fried shallots, raw sliced green chili and squeeze of lime. I used serano chili that last time and it was good! No need to put a lot if not too spicy!

  6. Hi gelato,
I didn't know there is a Viet Hoa in Houston too! Thanks for the link but the shipping rate is ridiculous there.

    Hi Angie,
I didn't get to eat mee rebus while I was in M'sia too. It was simply too many things to eat! Oh, I just let my kids be, they will watch education cartoon, do some drawings, play on their own and only come to me when they needed something from me. They can entertain themselves. :P

Yeah Sig, buy one and try, it's pretty tasty.

Daphne, this paste is pretty hard to hunt down. When you go back to S'pore next year, go to Giant to stock up!

Yes Tigerfish, very thick gravy! I like mine with lots of fried shallots too. One thing though the packinging is so bulky, want to buy more to bring back also hard. :(

  14. Yum! I love Prima Taste!! Isn't it delicious? They don't sell it here either but I saw them in Vancouver. Too bad it's so expensive, ya?

  15. Yes Blur Mommy, it's a pity it's so expensive here. I don't buy it even though I see them in the store (unless it's on sales, which is hardly ever), there are alternative as you know. :P
