I haven't bought a whole fish for ages. And see what happen when I shopped with Lily (yeah, I get to shop with her a lot these days, :D), I ended out bought two fishes, one was white Pomfret which I steamed it but was too eager to eat it hot and thus didn't take any picture. But since this fish was deep-fried and looking so yummy (not that my steamed pomfret was not yummy), I decided to record it in my blog. Hehe...
I served my deep-fried fish on a bed of scallions in plain soy sauce. I wanted my fish to remain crispy instead of soggy laden with soy sauce. So, I pour soy sauce on a plate, piled the scallions on top and then placed my deep-fried fish on top of the scallion and then drizzled a little hot oil on top.
love to eat steam and fried whole fish but I have never done so in US yet. Because I am kind of scare of the fish head -_-"

Thanks Ginger. :) What fish ah, I also don't know. I just looked at the fish and thought, "this fish looks delicious" and just bought on impulse. Too many fishes in the Asian market, I only know a handful or less only. :P Sorry ah couldn't provide with a name.
Looks good.. looks like is Tilapia is it? This reminded me last time i brought Malaysia soy sauce all the way from malaysia and cooked the same dish. The sauce taste so much better with malaysia sauce, less salty flavor and more fragrant

ReplyDeleteI don't think it's Tilapia because I do recognize Tilapia. This fish is white with a tint of pink kinda fish. Now you have mentioned it, from the picture, it does look like Tilapia isn't it.

yes i always have my seafood dishes done simple and fast. You can try to coat your fish with topioca flour and deep fried them till golden brown. Serve them on a serving plate, pour your favourite soya sauce beside the fish and not on top of the fish. I always have them that way, gorgeous.
