I made orange chiffon cake today mainly because I got a dozen free eggs from a recent grocery shopping. I still have a dozen at home so need to find a way to use it.
I made this using my Pandan Chiffon Cake recipe, just changed some of the ingredients.
I didn't add the orange food coloring thus the yellow color. Normally I would add it for the nice orange color.
I added orange icing after I shared the huge piece with my daughter because I found it not sweet enough. Oh yeah, guess I love sweet stuff too. :P
Wow! Chiffon Cake again. Been reading up on Chiffon Cakes at Leisure Cat these days. You and Angie are making my fingers itch! *lol*
ReplyDeleteHi Ching, very nice chiffon cake. Looks soft too. Well done !

ReplyDeleteThanks ladies! :)
ReplyDeleteAngie, I think it's the oven. We have big oven in U.S. and my cakes all look like that.
Little Corner of Mine ,
ReplyDeleteDo you mind to share the recipe... Your chiffon is soo tall. I tried mine.. is sooo shortie!
Hi Simonne,
ReplyDeleteThe recipe is posted under my Pandan chiffon cake recipe. Just click on the highlighted link. For the orange chiffon, just omit the coconut milk and use orange juice and instead of pandan extract, use orange essence.
Good luck!
This cake looks great. How do you make the orange icing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anon. I don't really remember, but about 1 cup of powder/icing/confection sugar mix in with 1 tsp. orange essence and milk to the consistency you like. The quantity of milk is not much, about few Tbsp. Whisk to combine. If you added too much milk, just add more powder sugar to adjust.
ReplyDeleteHi! back to u again...
ReplyDeleteAfter my endless attempt in making chiffon cake using u'r FABULOUS....
pandan chiffon base, I've made the orange version with ¾C sunquick water, which is
2tbsp sunquick cordial + water to make up the amount specified. I added 1tsp orange paste
½ tsp Orange essence & rind for flavor. The cake….. JUST WONDERFULL!!
I really own this to u… THANKS again for the recipe.
Thank you for taking the time to feedback to me, Maria. :) I am so happy this recipe worked out for you and you enjoyed this cake a lot. Good to hear it. :)
